Hi, I'm Matthew Wilson.

I'm a songwriter and DIY producer creating reflective, philosophically inspired music set against ambient soundscapes. I mainly work in spoken word, though I occasionally sing.

Beginning with Walden, my music has explored space, texture, reflection, creativity, memory, meaning, and everyday life. Some songs are deeply personal. Others are more philosophical. All are rooted in a desire to explore the experiences and questions that shape our lives.

For me, songwriting is an opportunity to bring words and music together, to explore ideas, express emotions, and make sense of the world around me. I enjoy creating music that leaves room for reflection, without necessarily providing all the answers.

Alongside my music, I write personal essays exploring many of the same ideas behind my songs. I also host Songwriting Monthly, a small, year-round community where songwriters can share their work, connect with others, and keep creating at their own pace.
